![]() About the Bentley ArnageThe Bentley Arnage is a four-door luxury car with a front-located engine and rear-wheel drive. The Arnage is available with a four- or five-speed transmission, and at one point held the title of the fastest and most powerful sedan available in the automobile market.Built in Crewe, England, the Arnage is a full-sized luxury car that seats five. The car, which focused more on speed and power than fuel economy, averages only 10 miles per gallon for city driving and 14 mpg for highway travel. Originally powered by a 4.4-liter BMW V8, which was provided by Cosworth's Engineering, the Arnage's motor was upgraded to a 268.4-cubic inch BMW V8 in 1998. The motor also had twin turbochargers, giving the Arnage 354 horsepower. Renamed Arnage Red and Green Label for 1999 and 2000, the Red Label was a revised version of the Arnage while the original was produced with minor modifications and sold under the Green Label name. In 2009, the Arnage was produced for the final time with a longer wheelbase (introduced in the 2001 model) and a higher capacity engine, which increased the car's speed to 179 mph at maximum. Standard features in the Arnage included a remote engine start, power and massaging front seats with heating and cooling options for both front and rear seats, air conditioning with climate control for four separate zones, 8-disc CD changer, and a navigation system with voice recognition. Optional features included a power sunroof, heated and cooled cupholders, and power and massaging rear seats. The car is available with wood trim and leather interior, as well as custom paint and wheels, among other various choices. The 2002 Arnage T was named the most powerful roadgoing Bentley at that year's Detroit Motor Show. Also, in 2006, a special edition Diamond Series Arnage was produced in celebration of Bentley's 60 years of production. The car boasted diamond wood inlays, diamond-quilted leather seats, Union Jack badges on the sides, and special alloy wheels. Only 60 of the vehicles were produced.
