 About the Audi A6The well-appointed Audi A6 is an executive car produced since 2007. The A6 series includes two good-looking body styles: a saloon car and an Avant or estate car. With the A6 tanks holding more than 21 gallons of fuel, fill-ups can be few and far between. The A6 developed as a replacement for the Audi 100 collection. As such, it retains much of the Audi 100 C4's appearance but debuted with new exterior lights and a new radiator grille plus different chassis and engine choices. Three generations of the A6 have already been produced. After the C4 was first released in 1994, Audi added the C5 saloon in late 1997 and the C5 estate car in 1998. The C5 class features Italian design influences, is especially aerodynamic, and overall is a bit more upscale than even the luxurious C4 collection. Major redesigns came to the A6 in 2002: the transmission was changed, new engines were offered, the grille was updated, new amber taillights were added, and the molding was modified. Current Audi A6s include the following six trims: 3.2; Premium 3.2; Premium Plus 3.0T; Premium 3.0T; Premium Plus 3.0T; Prestige; and Prestige 4.2. All trims include dual climate control zones, Valcona leather seating, and excellent lumbar support. Even the simplest option includes iPod compatibility, a Bluetooth phone setup, and an attractive and practical 7 full-color LCD navigation screen. As trims become pricier, additional features such as SIRIUS Satellite Radio, a Bose sound system, and keyless stopping and starting are included. The Audi A6 earned above-average safety ratings in 2010 and the 2011 A6 carries on with Audi's wide array of impressive safety features: a patented Electronic Stabilization Program, antilock brakes, traction control, head restraints, an advanced front/front-side/side airbag system, and more.
